JCT Building was founded on over 20 years of hands-on experience, hard work, and a genuine passion for the trade.
I left school at 15 and began my journey as a carpenter’s apprentice, learning the fundamentals of the industry from the ground up. Over the years, I developed my skills across all aspects of carpentry — from first and second fix work to roofing and full loft conversions — building a solid foundation in both craftsmanship and site management.
After more than a decade in the trade, I made the decision to go out on my own. In the early days, I worked relentlessly — balancing full-time site work during the week while taking on additional jobs at weekends to build up both experience and the business. That dedication led to the creation of JCT Building around eight years ago.
Since then, the company has gone from strength to strength. What started as a one-man operation has grown into a trusted, fully project-managed building service, taking on larger and more complex projects year after year.
I’m incredibly grateful for the people who helped shape my journey, especially the mentors and early opportunities that gave me the skills to succeed. Like any business, there have been challenges along the way — but through hard work, consistency, and a commitment to quality, JCT Building has continued to grow.

JCT Building is based in Kidderminster, so most of our projects are a short drive away. We take on extensions and renovations across Stourport-on-Severn, Bewdley, Worcester, Bromsgrove, Hagley, Stourbridge, Halesowen, Droitwich Spa and Tenbury Wells, covering Worcestershire and into the West Midlands.
The work itself covers kitchen extensions, side and rear extensions, single and double storey extensions, full house renovations, structural alterations, loft, dormer, hip to gable and Velux conversions, and decorative brickwork. Every job is fully project managed, so you have one point of contact from the first site visit through to the final tidy up.

Jay is on site and reachable throughout, every subcontractor is qualified and registered in their own trade, and the work is carried out to current building regulations. We are on site Monday to Friday 7am to 6pm and Saturday 8am to 1pm, and we are happy to look at drawings you already have or talk through ideas that are still at the kitchen table stage.
